Besides his many virtues, Friar Galvão had other supernatural gifts, that had happened with other saints, like his name sake, St. Anthony. These gifts have been attested to by different authors. Just to cite a few, there was ubiquity (he was seen in more than one place at the same time); premonition (foresee future events), and levitation (rise up off the ground). This last one inspired an old time verse which was handed down through the generations:

In my affliction
Grant me consolation
Friar Galvão, my master,
You who did not touch the ground.
